The Visual Designer for the User Experience Department of our Cary, North Carolina client plays a pivotal role in the product interface development process; working within a team of User Experience/Interaction Designers, Business Analysts, Technical Writers, Information Architects, and Developers to translate wireframes and product requirements into cutting edge visual interface designs. Visual Designers use their knowledge and understanding of browser-based interfaces in collaboration with other team members to develop world-class online products. The Visual Design Team is instrumental in driving brand values, embracing Web trends, and technological advances. Visual Designers participate in design reviews; offering and receiving creative criticism; and must be able to rationalize and communicate creative design concepts. The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): 7+ years of Visual Interface Design experience A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related subject Strong understanding of HTML, XHTML, and CSS Expert knowledge of typography, color, and composition Expert level knowledge of graphic imaging and design tools such as Adobe Photoshop/Fireworks, etc. Expert level of knowledge of image optimization and cut-ups for Web implementation Experience supporting and/or driving brand requirements Self-motivated and articulate team player Strong oral, written communication; and presentation skills are essential Ability to translate written guidelines into creative solutions Prototyping: This Designer must have strong prototype experience; be a creative thinker; and have experience with Web-based applications Samples are essential Preferences: Working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, and CSS coding Flash animation and action script capabilities Understanding of usability, accessibility, and Web standards
