SUMMARY: The Project Manager/Writer for Marketing and Communications works with the leadership of the Performing Arts area on key College initiatives by providing marketing project management and guidance DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develops one strategic, integrated communications plan (including SEO, e-mail, online and social media), budget and schedule that includes Performing Arts (including Showtime and Piano Recital Series), ArtsPrep and JazzFest to increase patron engagement, reach new audiences, and maximize ticket-selling, and class registration activities * Develop marketing plans for credit programs (Recording Arts and Technology, Jazz Studies, Music, etc) to increase enrollment when necessary or assist with projects as needed * Manages project development from beginning to end. Serves as a marketing communications consultant, provides counsel to College constituents on how to best achieve marketing goals, develops project briefs and assist Marketing and Communications department in meeting its objectives in developing and writing communications, project plans and collateral * Actively seek out and writes stories (success, feature, analytical, community-focused, etc.), that will contribute to marketing collateral of the College, such as College magazine, Website, e-newsletters, brochures, etc. Duties include collecting and analyzing information about newsworthy subjects to write stories for publication; receiving assignments or evaluating news leads and news tips to develop and pitch story ideas; gathering and verifying factual information; and organizing materials and writing stories according to AP Style standards and College Style guide * Serves as the liaison between Marketing and Communications department and the Performing Arts division with respect to confidential and sensitive College information and issues. Assists with media and public relations strategies, which includes writing news releases, arranging media ticket giveaways, and reviewer tickets Attends performances/events to coordinate media and photographers Advises Dean and others on appropriate Marketing and Communications policies, procedures and marketing trends Maintains content on all Performing Arts web pages, including text, photo and video Manages all Performing Arts social media outlets Maintains weekly regular and actionable statistics and analytics to understand customer behavior and to drive customer satisfaction, acquisition and retention Implements usage of online patron survey initiatives Creates media book for JazzFest and Performing Arts Advises on initial planning for Performing Arts season Performs other related duties as assigned *denotes essential function REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Bachelor's degree Minimum three years experience in marketing and communications including the development of publications Previous experience in journalism or public relations Demonstrated accomplishments in publications, production
