Our client is one of the world's most famous and important institutions. They are working on a significant redevelopment of their website, expanding the features and services it will deliver. This will enable them better to engage their existing users and reach out to new ones, giving people instant access to easily navigable information and engaging them with their work. Working closely with the Head of Design, the Designer will work on a range of designs for all of our clients online platforms, including website, Intranet and mobile. They will ensure that all designs are timely and of consistently high quality, meeting the needs of key target audiences. They will provide support, advice and best practice for colleagues in the web and development teams. The work is varied but the key focus will be on our clients shift away from dependency upon print towards digital media. It will include enhancing the visual presentation of business papers that Members of both Houses use in their day-to-day work and the reports and other publications that our client produce for its diverse user community. We are looking for someone who can enhance the visual presentation of our user interfaces so that information is easy to digest, easy to find and rich and innovative. The work will include:.Applying visual design elements to create interfaces that are engaging, innovative, authoritative and inspiring while increasing usability, comprehension and communication..Enhancing, simplifying, and optimizing the interfaces used in complex web applications, interactive websites, rich media, mobile devices, and other systems.Helping to establish a design approach based on what is possible with the data available, what will meet users needs and business objectives.Developing and articulating this online experience through wireframes, page comps and style guide specifications.Close liaison with the Print to Web team Qualifications, experience and skills required Essential.Experience as a visual designer for complex, information based websites.Experience of working in a user-focussed design environment.A good understanding of web production processes, including content management systems, HTML and CSS.Excellent knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphic packages.Ability to work with third party suppliers.Working knowledge of current accessibility requirements.Excellent planning and organisational skills.
