Yoh has a direct hire opportunity for a Flash Developer to join our client, a worldwide leader/social gaming studio in Vancouver, BC. Job Responsibilities: - Work with designers/producers to turn a feature or gameplay objective into reality in a quick, efficient and iterate-able (made up word) manner. This requires a hands-on coding involvement in prototyping, playtesting, iterating, tuning and debugging game features. - Build ingenious tools and systems that provide designers and artists with the freedom to rapidly iterate on the product without causing too much chaos. - Strong-arm, cajole and coerce the Facebook API to implement Facebook-dependent features. - Implement both the Front End and Back End elements of features and systems. - Provide clever input into the game design, tuning and ongoing improvement of the player experience. Job Qualifications: - High School Diploma is required. - University Degree in Computer Science is preferred. - 4+ years experience with Flash Action Script 2/3 (expertise in AS3 game development a must). - 2+ years making games in a professional game development environment as a programmer. - 1+ social/Facebook/online game that you have personally worked on as a programmer. - Solid understanding of Flash/Flex game design challenges (eg graphic optimization and bandwidth limitations) is a must. - Familiarity with databases is also important - you don't need to be a database samurai, but must have fought in the dojo a few times. - Experience working Flex, Python and Django are plusses. - Additional experience (2+ years) in other development environments (C/C++/C#/Java) is of course pretty handy to have. - Experience with HTML, CSS, JSON/XML, and JavaScript and how they interrelate with Flash apps is another plus.
