12 month contract opportunity for a Front End Developer to join a creative team within a global telecoms corporation. The Front End Developer will be responsible for performing day-to-day site maintenance and where necessary, implementing the ongoing development of the company's website, Intranet and Extranet/portal. Responsibility extends to maintaining company standards for design, navigation and performing quality-control for third party content and maintaining and developing small web applications. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in the migration of content from these channels to a new platform and supporting external agencies in their redevelopment and maintenance of the website over the next 12 months. Key responsibilities of the position: The Front End Developer will be primarily responsible for: Updating and maintaining the company website using an Oracle Universal Content Management System (UCM); Manage information: add a wide variety of assets (PDFs, videos, Flash, images, video among others) and repurpose information for the CMS, and keep Back End systems and databases up to date; Provide technical support for the organisations managers and advise on best practice to implement integrated digital campaigns - including liaison with external agencies on their behalf with regard to technical issues; Assisting the organisations Digital Department with various tasks, mostly related to the web, such as implementation of web marketing and e-marketing tools like Google AdWords, RSS feed, web analytics, reciprocal links and back links, SEO, campaign tags and other technical support as required from time to time by external agencies; Co-ordinate and contribute to writing up-to-date content for the website and various social media tools (blog posts, tweets, etc.); The Front End Developer will be responsible for editing web content, identifying content errors, publishing new content and ensuring proper page layout and style across both website and Intranet; Workflow management and documenting project deliverables while maintaining best practices. Essential knowledge and skills: Graduate or equivalent in a field of relevance for the position; Excellent oral and written command of English; Familiarity with the use of at least two CMS platforms at enterprise level; Advanced knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery is essential with an understanding of DHTML, COM, AJAX, Flash, and rich media technologies and platforms such as video encoding and streaming; Experience with and interest in web social media tools (blog post, Twitter, Facebook) and e-marketing; Creative flair for the development and enhancement of templates, assets, emails, display/online banner adverts and development of other digital collateral; Conversant with email marketing tools and platforms including the use of tracking tags and metrics/evaluation tools used in campaigns; Experience with format conversions, production of PDF files and graphic
